1) Ph.D. biochemist  2 ) i love science 3) catalyst for change 4) PSALM 27:1

I’m a biochemist, a nonprofit professional specializing in small business development, and an aspiring biotech founder passionate about making science work for everyone. I recently earned my Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Old Dominion University and currently support client services at Black BRAND. Black BRAND is the Black Chamber of Commerce for Hampton Roads, working to bridge the racial wealth gap by empowering Black entrepreneurs and professionals through business development, access to capital, advocacy, and community-driven economic initiatives.

For the past three years, I’ve worked at the intersection of community development and systems-building—ensuring that underserved founders get the support they need. This experience has deepened my belief that science, like business, must be accessible, equitable, and rooted in real-world impact.

Alongside my nonprofit work, I’m actively seeking opportunities that will strengthen my research, technical, and collaborative skills in a dynamic environment—one that supports my growth as a scientist, broadens my professional network, and offers insight from those already established in the biotech and startup space. My long-term goal is to launch a biotechnology venture focused on creating practical, science-backed tools that address unmet biomedical needs.

Whether I’m working in the lab or alongside entrepreneurs, I’m committed to building a future where science isn’t just advanced—it’s shared, applied, and inclusive.

Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever

DOB: May 4th, 2016

Jafar is the sweetest, and most wiggly baby you'll ever have the pleasure to meet! He radiates joy and loves cuddles, belly rubs, and good boy scratches. Besides his love for tug-of-war and chewing, he's deeply passionate about sniffing things, with long hikes being his favorite. While he's a very good boy, he is NOT to be trusted alone around open trash bins; he's known to help himself to a trashy snack when no one's looking!

Plants Home Decor

Plant Babies.

The Houseplants vibrant foliage and graceful demeanor have been alluring to me for quite some time. I find joy in discovering unique and unexpected planters. My leafy companions have made a home in coffee mugs, an old SPAM tin, and even an upcycled Arizona tea can! Roughly 40-45 plants make up my botanical haven that's simply teeming with life and so much character!

As I nurture my plants, I am simultaneously nurtured by the deep connection they foster with both the Earth and the divine Creator.

Meet The Finley's

Small tank, big finergy.

They may be small, but they’ve got big personalities and even bigger vibes. Residing at Club Aquarium, this lively crew brings color, chaos, and cuteness to my everyday life. From a pink, green, and purple tetra trio that sparkle like disco lights, to a bamboo shrimp with main character energy—The Finleys are the heartbeat of this underwater hangout. It’s a glowing, joyful world, and I’m just lucky to be their human.

Baking

Whisked Away: My Sweet Escape

Baking is my happy place—a creative outlet where science meets sweetness. Whether it’s a batch of gooey cookies, dainty cupcakes, or perfectly golden mini loaves, I love crafting little delights that make people smile. There’s something magical about how a handful of simple ingredients can transform into something that warms the heart (and sweetens the day).

Science is for Humanity.
